  	Helen Gilliland Brown Born: August 25, 1927 Died: December 5, 2007 Services: December 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM Mrs. Helen Gilliland Brown, age 80, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on August 25, 1927, in Pinehurst, North Carolina, the daughter of Leslie, Sr. & Lula Jane Byrd Gilliland, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Pinehurst and was a 1944, graduate of Pinehurst High School. She was united in marriage to Richard M. Brown on September 22, 1956, in Elnora, Indiana United Methodist Church. To this union arrived two sons to bless their home. Due to Dick's work they moved often and had resided in Princeton, Clinton, New Albany & Bloomington, Indiana. They settled in Madison the past thirty years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed dancing, especially the "Jitterbug", sewing, knitting, reading and preparing delicious meals for her family. Helen died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 7:08 am at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Helen will be missed by her husband: Richard M. "Dick" Brown of Madison, Indiana; her sons: Jim Brown & his wife: Jackie of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and Mike Brown & his wife: Nancy of Hanover, Indiana; her sister: Betty Lou Vigneault of Norfolk, Virginia; her brother: Ralph G. Gilliland & his wife: Carolyn of Greensboro, North Carolina; her sister's in law & brother's in law: Judy Beasley of Elnora, Indiana; Beverly Shuckman & her husband: Alvin of Freelandville, Indiana; Sandy Van Deventer & her husband: Ray of Bloomfield, Indiana; her grandaughter: Jordan; her grandsons: Joel, Jacob. & Ryan Brown, several nieces, nephews, cousins & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leslie, Sr. & Lula Jane Byrd Gilliland; her twin sister: Ruth Baine; her brothers: Edwin & Leslie Gilliland, Jr. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 10, 2007 at 11:00 am, by the Reverend Donald G. Bradley, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 412 West Main Street in downtown Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana and Monday from 10:00 am until time of the service at the Trinity United Methodist Church 412 West Main Street in downtown Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County Chapter of the American Cancer Society or the United Methodist Women.
